Bagelfeld's: A true taste from the past

This bagel shop immediately takes me back to my childhood in Brooklyn. Bagels were made fresh daily, spreads were readily available and there were at least 8-10 flavors available for purchase. I remember looking forward to my mom coming home with fresh bagels in the morning and I could make my favorite concoction of a plain bagel toasted with butter on one side and jelly on the other, the perfect balance of sweet and salty.

When I found this vendor online they were only doing pop-ups around the valley and they would always sell out before I could get to them (also because I don't like to wake up early on the weekends).  Finally, I made it to Bagelfelds on a Saturday market trip after yoga and the bagels were everything little Sass desired. It brought back so many memories of my family eating breakfast together, me refusing to eat or even try my dad's favorite everything bagel and  when my aunt would take the bread out of the inside for me because I had a shaky tooth. This is the nostalgia that a NY bagel gives me, it takes me back in time and I love it.

Aside from them being so much like my cherished childhood bagel, Bagelfeld's now has a brick and mortar location here with some tasty new bagel flavors. Their hours are Tuesday - Sunday 6AM - 12PM.  I have tried the blueberry, jalapeno cheddar and asiago flavors (yes I have become much more adventurous with age) no surprise I would get them all again. Now for the spreads - they make all of their spreads in house and have a nice rotation of flavors. The favorites that I have tried are Honey Brown Butter, Lemon and Herb cream cheese and their Strawberry creamcheese. While their menu is small; their flavors, efficiency and overall pleasant demeanor is more than enough to keep me coming back.

P.S. - they also added an online order option which beats standing in line. There is always a line because YES they are THAT delicious.
