Galentine Gifts
As someone who was single for a very long time, I grew a disdain for Valentine’s day. It always felt corny and overdone so after watching Leslie Knope from Parks and Rec celebrate Galentine's day, I thought I could do the same thing. A new craft project would use up some free time and also allow me to reframe yet another holiday that reminded me how frustrating the single life is.
I decided on a small care package with Hershey kisses, a cute note, some sticky notes and other random cute decorative items. I made minor changes to the package depending on the person and their interests. This was a fun exercise in reminding people that they are special during a very lonely time of the year. My friends all called/texted to say how cute the gift was and how much they loved it. This was a win and I made someone else feel good with my distraction!
If your Gals are close by - go on a lil date. I would recommend a movie, new restaurant, happy hour, museum visit, dinner or just some time quality time inside. You know your girls best - take the initiative to plan something so you can enjoy the time and spread the love.
