Hating the Gym

Do you hate the gym? Maybe its the germs, the loud weight lifters, sharing machines or waiting for weights. There are several reasons to avoid the gym in this day and age, so I challenge you to think about movement instead of the traditional workout.

You don’t have to bench 150 pounds to be strong or healthy.  Can you add more movement into your day? There are classes for every damn thing, you name it there is a studio that offers it. If you want to try a studio these are a few things to consider:

1) Class times - do these times work with your schedule? Are they convenient for you?

2) Do you like the instructors and overall vibe of the studio? Are people friendly?

3) Is there a beginner option, are they offering modifications when walking you through the movements in class?

4) How do you feel after this class? Example: After hot yoga some people feel rejuvenated and refreshed even though they are dripping with sweat. While others feel like they are going to collapse from exhaustion and never want to do it again. Take some time to check in with your self or rate these classes on your own personal scale. Every class is NOT for every BODY, I don’t care what the marketing says. There is one Tik Tok influencer that I follow who reviews studios in LA, look for reviews if you are apprehensive about a new studio.

5) Class Pass - if you live in a major city class pass is a great option to try out studios while paying one monthly fee.  If you like it you can go back again, until you run out of credits but you don’t have to become a member of that studio until you really want to. They even have memberships that are nationwide, so if you are traveling you can still workout!

I am planning to join Class Pass next month because there are a few studios that I want to try out. If there is one that I really like I can keep doing Class Pass classes there until they have a New Year package!  We are always looking for a discount and working out doesn’t have to be expensive, its an investment in your future self.
