Gus in His Finest Coat

When Gus first came home from the shelter he was a different kind of guy. First, his name was Kevin(had to change that!), second, he was terribly afraid of everything and the biggest offense was, he had skin flakes. While I started with keeping him comfortable, I immediately began reading about options to help his skin issues. In the pet stores The Zesty Paw was highly recommended and online the best option was Wild One. I tried both and Wild One was chosen for the lower cost. Both seemed to have a similar effect of making his coat less itchy and flaky. I fed Gus these chews for about 13 months because I didn’t feel that he was ready for a food change.

I did however push forward on the food change when Gus started throwing up, having bad poops and ended up needing some expensive stomach tests at the vet. I wanted to make sure that he was getting a good quality food that would help with some of these issues he was having. I do have a post about the dry kibble that Gus eats.

These brands have a variety of chew options, so if your fur baby is having some issues I recommend checking with your vet and looking into these brands.
